The color theory of this work comes immediately from a written exchange between I and the mistress in the romance — one of our first correspondences. I described my relationship with colors at length. An artist can never easily answer which color is her favorite! Inspired by my prattling about my emotions for all colors and how that has affected my choices in pigments, she replied with a well organized study of the evolution of color/pigment in her painting history. She called it her Color Manifesto.
